The Last Day of First Grade

Yesterday school let out for the summer. Mrs. Turner held an awards ceremony in her class which we attended. We arrived while the kids were out for their second recess, so we read some books while we waited for them to come back.

J and O. J's ready for the long weekend -- gotta love that shirt!

H had to pull his own socks on -- all the way up to his knees. So cute.

S got an award for writing. This year Mrs. Turner had them write in journals and learning logs, and S would write and write and write. They're a fun read.

As S explained to me upon seeing this picture, "I was chewing on a piece of candy, and my teeth were stuck together, so I had to smile funny."
He's had a great year in First Grade, and Mrs. Turner has been a phenomenal teacher for him. We are so thankful for all of her hard work, time, and dedication to S. As S puts it,"She's the best teacher in the whole wide world!"
