I Admit It

I saw that vampire movie last night. An awesome friend and I went and sat in a theater with not as many fawning teenage girls as we had expected, more guys with their ladies than we expected, and the best seats in the house (who doesn't like to put their feet up on the bar?). And the movie? Six words: so much better than the first.

J had initially wanted to come with me, which I thought was pretty brave of him, but upon considering H's developing cough, I decided that we'd better not inflict that on a sitter and turned down J's date proposal. I think he was disappointed. He started watching some trailer of it he found while I was across the room texting my afore-mentioned awesome friend. Can I just say that it is much more embarrassing to listen to the trailer than it is to watch it? I thought he was trying to shame me out of going. Try it sometime -- just listen to the trailer without watching it. It's mortifying. But somehow I survived the shame of that acoustical experience, went to the movie, and enjoyed it well enough to stop making fun of Kristen Stewart's one facial expression, the minority couple, and the oohs and ahhs when Jacob took off his shirt that echoed around the theater. It was pretty good. I might have to see it again. I admit that I went to see Twilight twice -- the second time because I had to make sure it wasn't as awful as I thought it was the first time (it was). This one I'm going to see one more time because I liked it. How's that for a girl whose next threadless.com acquisition has to be
?

Jump!

I know I should enforce a "no jumping on the furniture" rule, but then we would miss little gems like this:

Exterminator

Hornets have built a nest under our front porch. We watch them buzz in and out of a crack between our steps and our house. On the 24th of July J decided to do something about it. I had to run to the grocery store, so he asked me to pick up a can or two of hornet spray. They only had one kind there (and I don't recommend it), so this is J taking care of the hornet nest. Make sure you've gone to the bathroom before you watch it because you may pee in your pants.

Our neighbors to the north noticed his funny little dance and came over to investigate. Spencer said, "You know, it's really important to stay as still as possible because they're attracted to your movement" to which I said, "J can't help it; it's like a compulsion." He really can't seem to help it. His little insect avoidance dances are the funniest things I've ever seen.

This is Spencer. He watched J for a while then went in his house, came out in his beekeeping gear, and took over. He goes into anaphylactic shock when he gets stung by a bee, so you understand my comment to him. Doesn't he look professional? Thanks, Spencer!

As Per My Brother's Request...

This is last May when S was learning to ride his bike without training wheels. It's kind of long, but watch the whole thing. The best part is at the end and well worth it! I laugh every time I see it.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Here is a favorite from last October. Busta move, H!
