Another Running Update

Yesterday I got up at 5:45AM to run 9.5 miles. It is the farthest I've ever run, and it really felt good. I'm finally starting to love it and feel good about it. No longer do I feel like I am going to pass out after a run. On the contrary, I feel GREAT and get so much done in the two hours after I finish my run. Then I crash and am useless for at least a couple hours, sometimes the rest of the day. For a day or so my feet really hurt and I limp around (feel free to point and laugh if you drive past my house and I look like I am crippled), but then I can walk again until the next run. Does it sound crazy? I think all the jarring is killing brain cells.

I'm not worried about the Ragnar anymore. In fact, if there is a Ragnar Relay (check out ragnarrelay.com) near you, I challenge you to train for it and ask (con, beg) a bunch of friends to come do it with you. I will be one of your runners. That's right -- I will fly to you and run on your team. And why will I do such a thing? Because I am nuts.

After the Ragnar I'm going to keep running with my neighbor. She is going to run the St. George Marathon in October. I am not. I just figure if I can keep on her training schedule, then I will be capable of running a marathon if I ever wanted to. Maybe one day...

I love reading about your running adventures! I'm reliving my summer adventures from last year through you and I can't stop laughing! You are doing great! Keep up the good work. If you want something to look forward to, the Hobblecreek 1/2 marathon is fantastic. All downhill for the most part. But you have to sign up early... in fact, sometime soon. Check it out! Keep up the good work!
